The Selection Process
To organise awards like these can be quite controversial, and the process by which a winner is chosen is often critised. Accordingly, we have appointed KPMG as the official auditors to ensure that the entire process is fair, objective and professional. Additionally, we have taken considerable effort to make the process very transparent by widely publicising the management of the Awards.
This includes:
-
Setting up on Kelly Services and MIHRM websites up-to-date information about the Awards, and the process being followed.
-
Obtaining as much publicity via the media as possible, within sensible financial limitations.
-
Communicating directly with large number of organisations, by letter, e-mail, and over the telephone
-
Facilitating group discussions around the country, and in Kuala Lumpur, both to inform about the Awards, and to seek ideas as to how to make the Awards more successful, and the process more effective.
Stage 1
The Pre-Selection Panel which comprises of 3 members for each category of the awards will screen through the nominations to shortlist 3 finalist for each category of the Awards. A representative of the Pre-Selection Panel will formally present the finalists in a form suitable for the Final Selection Panel to make an efficient decision. Part of the presentation will be to briefly introduce each of the finalist to the Final Selection Panel with details and findings; and their personal impact.
Stage 2
The Final Selection Panel which comprises of 5 members will meet and interview the finalist in a live presentation determined by the Panel. The finalist may be required to present their achievements. The Final Selection Panel will then come to a collective decision on the winners.
The Panel of Judges will be led by the Minister of Human Resources (or his representative) as the Chief Panel and the Panel comprises Captains from various industried and veteran HR professionals whose collective judgement and insight to the requirements of the Awards is undoubted.
